A Very 'Love & Country' Update (ft. It's On Sale Again!)
Yoohoo! It’s Team Gu here with a little check in.
We hope everyone enjoyed the L&C: The First Mission bonus content! It was such a delight to share that small peek into the thinking of our LI’s. A big thank you to everyone who checked it out. Your comments and feedback mean so much to us.
So, what have we been up to for the past three months? We’re hard at work on the next script! As we mentioned in prior posts, Lillian’s story was originally envisioned in four chapters (you could say “missions” or “arcs”, but we’ll go with “chapters” for now). Our debut release was the first. The plan is to release the three subsequent chapters together. We have the broad strokes of the plot mapped out for all three, however, there are still a lot of details to be fleshed out from the general outline.
There's a lot of work to be done!

We’re also still figuring out how the plot differs from route to route. First Mission had four possible endings. One of the elements we need to consider is how those endings impact the way the next chapter starts. We haven’t canonized one route as the “true route” and the others as alternatives, so our intention is to allow the player to choose their preferred route as the starting point.
Scripting is a lengthy process, and one that’s made longer by the planned expansion in scope (great news for those of you who were asking for a longer story!). If you follow us on Tumblr, you may have seen the many in-progress character designs for a whole cast of characters populating Paris 1916. We expect writing will continue through the summer. Keep an eye out on Tumblr for more WIP art and excerpts from our draft!
Oh, and one last thing before we go: this week is the Otome Games Celebration on Steam (yay!) There are a ton of great indie and mainstream games on sale, including L&C: The First Mission which is currently a sweet, sexy 25% off (the sale price also applies to the game here on itch. We see you, Mac users.)! You can check out the fest’s page here: Otome Games Celebration .
As always, we welcome any questions or comments from you guys. Have fun!
xoxo,
Jules and Katie

So excited!
Oh, exciting!
That sounds pretty hectic, given 4 different endings- would the plan then be for each subsequent chapter to have multiple endings which lead to more different stories, would they each be wholly unique, or just somewhat referential to the previous chapter?
Would the cast include the original two love interests?
Thanks!
In order to keep the scope from spiraling completely out of control, we have to make the story referential to the previous chapter rather than continuing on four wholly unique paths. Certain events will transpire no matter what, but the way Lillian, Anton, or Émile react to those events will be shaped by what they experienced previously. We're building in story choices into each chapter as well that will lead to different endings.
And yes, Lillian will be seeing both Anton and Émile again 💗
